We are delighted to announce changes to our leadership structure. Founders Sam Herbert and Inigo Surguy become Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer respectively, whilst former Head of Strategy, Jennifer Schivas, joins them on the Leadership team as Managing Director with immediate effect.

67 Bricks has grown steadily since its inception in 2007 and flagship partnerships with The Economist Intelligence Unit, Emerald Publishing and De Gruyter have seen our reputation soar. With publishers continuing to accelerate their digital strategies, we are excited to be strengthening our foundation to meet clients’ evolving needs.

Sam Herbert, CEO, said: “I am so proud our company has reached this point of growth and it is testimony to our talented team at 67 Bricks, who have consistently delivered high quality to clients and built enduring relationships.  I am delighted to be handing over the day-to-day management of the company to Jennifer, who has a great understanding of publishing technology and cares deeply about our stakeholders.

“In my new role as CEO, I will be taking a more strategic look at the wider business environment we operate in, and look forward to bringing that knowledge to bear for board level stakeholders, both internally and externally.”

Jennifer Schivas, pictured below, joined us in 2016 having built an impressive publishing career at Intellect Books, Taylor & Francis and most recently Oxford University Press, where she led award-winning product development, technology partnership and innovation projects and was responsible for high-profile relationships with technology giants such as HP, Microsoft and Samsung, as well as a broad range of SMEs and emerging startups. Since joining 67 Bricks she has led a number of prestigious engagements with clients including SAGE, Wiley and Institute of Physics Publishing, served on the ALPSP professional development committee and spearheaded a number initiatives to secure and grow 67 Bricks’ position – both as industry leaders and as a great place to work.

Jennifer Schivas, Managing Director, said: “I’m delighted to take on the Managing Director role at 67 Bricks and build further on the successes we’ve seen to date. I joined 67 Bricks convinced that publishing, an industry that I care deeply about, needed to embrace technology further to thrive in the fast-evolving digital landscape, and with an ambition to help do so. Since then, we have seen significant, stable growth and we have matured and blossomed as a company. Our vibrant team has more than doubled in size, but our core values and genuine commitment to solving publishers’ problems remain the same. 67 Bricks is a company I am proud to say I work for and I’m thrilled to be working alongside Sam and Inigo in the role of Managing Director as we look to the future.

“Our leadership team will be further strengthened by David Leeming, our current Head of Client Services, who moves into the role of Delivery Director. With his wealth of publishing and technology experience, David consistently delivers great results for our clients. In addition, we plan to appoint a Strategic Consultancy Director in early 2022 to complete the new senior team.

Our new leadership structure gives us the right people in the right places to do even more to enable publishers to optimise their use of technology and embrace all that the future has to offer.”
