It has been a busy few weeks here at 67 Bricks Towers! It began last week when our Head of Strategy and Innovation Jennifer Schivas joined a capacity crowd at the Researcher to Reader Conference in London, where she was debating AI and automation in the knowledge supply chain, looking at where, why and how emerging technologies can be embraced to benefit the research community and enhance knowledge dissemination.
She also found the time to write a new blog on the topic, which featured on The Bookseller’s FutureBook blog – Don’t Rage Against the Machine.
Hot on the heels of a trip to New York to attend the Outsell DataMoney conference, and present to a room of publishing CEOs on machine learning, 67 Bricks co-founder Sam Herbert is running a seminar at The Faculty at London Book Fair next week. His session: Scholarly Publishing Comes of Age: Where Are You On The Journey to Data Maturity? will take place on Tuesday 12 March 2019 at 1130am-1230pm.
Sam said he was looking forward to talking to academic publishers on the realities of data. “AI is revolutionising our world and there is simply no escaping the fact that data is transforming our content products. Academics will always need to publish and get their latest research heard, but how hi-tech, valuable and simple you make that customer experience for them, could be the difference between business survival or failure going forward.”
